The player is free to go back and do anything they may have missed before confronting Ivlet. Theophilus - in the form of a hologram - will inform the player that the bridge is broken, but Beat tips you off to the fact that you can use Whiskers/Sniffing Radar to safely cross the shallow pool without being poisoned. The pets do not need feeding, grooming or resting (although these can be done, they are not compulsory) and the main goal of the game is to furnish the player's house. However, the player can choose one of 11 breeds of dog, but cannot give the dog an actual name. Instead of just rearing your prized pup, the game features an adventure element with a fanciful storyline: a troublemaking wolf has pilfered a magic hat and is causing mischief on a peaceful island. Petz: Dogz 2 on DS is a virtual pet game in some ways. Petz: Dogz 2 on PlayStation 2 features more than 40 breeds to adopt and over 60 activities to complete with your canine companion. They are released in the US under those titles and are called Dogz 2 and Catz 2 in the UK. Unlike the other platform versions, the DS versions for Petz: Dogz 2 and Petz: Catz 2 are quite different. In this version, the player cares for a cat or dog, similar to the old Petz series.

The PC version of the game is not released in the UK. Sometimes you will get poisoned, so it's good to buy antidotes from the drug store. If the player loses all of their health the game is over, and you start back from when you last saved and so they can purchase healing items from the Drug Store. By doing optional missions they can have up to ten. The player has three hearts to begin with (which turn black if the player is attacked) but by the end of the game they will have eight. As in The Dog Island, the player can dress up their cat or dog in hats, glasses and other accessories.Īs the wild animals are now evil, running in front or even behind some of them will make them attack the player, resulting in them losing some of their health.
All these items can be sold at the "Pawn Shop" for G (the currency in the game). In the game the player can catch fish or insects, search for flowers, or for fruits and vegetables.
The player's goal is to repair all the damage he has created, and then find some way of getting the hat back from Ivlet. He uses the hat to destroy much of the island and turn the wild animals evil. Please Note: This page is largely incomplete, and will be expanded upon over time. After the tutortials and delivering Doughnuts (In Catz)or Cookies (In Dogz)the character and their friend, Victor, are tricked into giving the hat to him. While Victor can be found in Dolphin Coast acting as the tutorial for the games basic controls, he is only found in the Police Station in North Pawville for the remainder of the game afterwards. But an evil wolf, named Ivlet,has been imprisoned before as once he attempted to steal the magic hat. The main character lives with their mother, Ione, and their father, Arvin, who are the protectors of the "Magic Hat", which is used to keep peace on the island on which they live.
Using Sniffing in Dogz or "Whiskers Radar" in Catz, the player can find items both for completing quests or as collectables.
